Sony, this week, confirmed that Gran Turismo is going to be released for PSP on October 1st, 2009.

Preorder bonuses have already been announced for a Japanese release, including product codes for five different cars, depending on which store completes the preorder. Also up for grabs is free access to a white Corvette ZR1 if you attain a first-pressing edition of the game.

Via 1UP, the PSP GT also marks the first time Lamborghini cars are available in the Gran Turismo series, something that really hits series director Kazunori Yamauchi right here. "I came from the 'supercar' generation of the 80s, so there's always been a special place in my heart for Lamborghini and especially the Countach," he told Famitsu magazine this week. "Ferrari has continually reinvented its image with the times; that's the charm of the brand. Lamborghini, meanwhile, has always been futuristic and revolutionary, and it's never wavered from that. It's always new, but it never changes, and that's what I like about it."
