Capcom has heavily revised their launch lineup for their major titles in an effort to "avoid competing with the major titles that other companies plan to introduce in the 4th quarter."

With a fiscal year ending March 31, 2010 that was set to see Lost Planet 2, Super Street Fight IV and Monster Hunter Tri, Capcom had a big early Winter/Spring lined up. However, in an effort to "preserve the value of Capcom's titles and maximize sales volume" along with "expanding the lineup of titles in the next fiscal year and afterward," the publisher has pushed the three titles to the next fiscal year: April 1, 2010 to March 31, 2011. Introduction of these titles will be spread across the year.

The other major title originally planned for a 4th fiscal quarter, Dark Void, will still see a release prior to March 31, 2010. Capcom, however, has reduced the sales forecast for the game from 1.3 million to 600,000 units.

Brandon: Capcom's probably making a smart business decision, as January - April, 2010 is hectic and full of amazing games. I, for one, am pleased with the move. SSFIV was the big Capcom game that I was looking forward to, but I can accept a delay if it allows me to play one of the forty million other games coming out early in 2010.
