Australian Government Opens Debate for an 18+ Rating

Thanks to a report on x360a.org, we now know that the Australian Government is finally doing something about the lack of a 18+ game rating issue which has screwed over many gamers in that nation. The highest rating in Australia is MA15+, leaving the developers of many games like Left 4 Dead, Fallout 3, Grand Theft Auto IV, and plenty others on a two-way street: Censor their games to become appropriate for a fifteen-year old audience, or don't release their games in that region at all. Nations like the U.S. and the U.K. use fair 18+ rating guidelines to allow adults to make decisions for themselves, but Australia has always had this problem.
However, times are changing, and the Australian Government is finally realizing that this is an issue. If you are currently an Australian citizen and want this nightmare to end once and for all, let your voice be heard. You have until February 28th, 2010, so don't hesitate to act.

Philip: Good news, indeed.
