In case some of you were wondering if the first Assassin's Creed II expansion pack The Battle of Forli was even going to meet its scheduled January release date, Ubisoft has just announced via Twitter the official launch date for the first ACII expansion. On January 28th, The Battle of Forli will be available to download on the Playstation Network and the Xbox Live Marketplace for a measly $4. Stay tuned for a review to learn whether or not the download is worth your money.

Description of the Battle of Forli from the AC2 Wiki: "(The Battle of Forli) comprises the first of the two "corrupted memories" of the Animus (DNA sequence 12). It will involve Niccolò Machiavelli and Caterina Sforza fighting alongside Ezio to protect a piece of Eden from the Orsi brothers and the Templars. It contains six new missions, of which Ezio will use the flying machine once more and as the title suggests, it will take place in Forlì."

Philip: January 28th? Too bad. I'll be too busy playing Mass Effect 2 to care.
