Borderlands DLC Trailer Heralds Release
Written by Aaron Marsh Tuesday, 24 November 2009 08:22
Pretty much the only new release worth taking a look at this week is the first Borderlands expansion pack, subtitled The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned. It's a good chuck of content, a whole island for dog's sake, but don't be expecting to get your level cap raised or stumble on a new class: this is strictly new quests and festive enemies.
Borderlands: The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned is out today on the Xbox Live Arcade and PSN via today's early update rather than the usual Thursday.
Aaron: I'm impressed that the first bit of DLC is out so quickly, Gearbox really anticipated how well it could work for this title. Keep this up, release some big expansions a la Blizzard, and all of a sudden Borderlands becomes un-trade-in-able. Genius? Well then, so is the game, thus it fits.

Borderlands DLC Trailer Heralds Release
Nov 24 2009 18:57:39 I bought it and beat it this morning, and I'm surprised that it contains a lot of comedy - more than what was in the core game. I would recommend this DLC for anyone who enjoys Borderlands. Very enjoyable expansion pack.

Nov 24 2009 19:07:44 Beat it already? Have you completed all the extra missions as well? About how many extra hours of gameplay did this add? Is it worth the $10?

I was disappointed that there weren't many side quests to begin with. The whole overall experience should take about 3-5 hours, but the sheer stupidity of the main "story" is quite refreshing. The main story never takes itself seriously (as the main storyline in Borderlands did) and seems hilariously over-the-top. I was surprised that I enjoyed it as much as I did, and it should be a blast when gunning down zombies with four players. However, I would 100% recommend this to anyone IF the price was $5. It seemed way too short for being $10 in my opinion. Still, if you're dying for another excuse to play Borderlands, this DLC is it. |

Nov 25 2009 20:20:37 Dr. Ned's mustache is worth the other $5, in my mind.

Nov 26 2009 18:37:25 The story in this was just delightful. I loved that everything tied together around the core story. It definitely felt more cohesive as a whole than the regular game did. I did beat it quicker than I thought I would, but I still loved every minute of it.
