It's about time.

According to Robert Bowling, the newest patch for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 goes live for Xbox 360 at 2AM on 12/23/2009. What timezone that is wasn't specified, but it is safe to assume West, as that's where the studio is located.

Alright, just got word the #MW2 Xbox 360 patch should start going live at 2 AM. You can now remove my face from your dartboards... for now.

Included in the patch are fixes to some of the problems plaguing Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer:

• Model 1887 Shotgun rebalancing
• Prestige glitch fix
• Private match glitch fix
• Infinite ammo glitch flix
• Texture Hack fix (PC only)

Full patch notes will be released by the studio once all consoles have been patched. In the interim, Infinity Ward maintains an "in progress" forum on their official forums, here.

The patch for PlayStation 3 went live around 6:03PM EST on 12/18/2009, while the PC patch (since it is a direct process from Infinity Ward) went live last week.
