More Confirmation Far Cry 3 is in The Works

The love-hate factor for Far Cry 2 was insanely high, so those who played may be pretty excited to hear that some of those things won't be a demon in your head the next time around... oh yeah, there's a next time around. It seems as though Ubisoft's Kevin Shortt wanted to be the one to unofficially confirm that Far Cry 3 is in the works when he was speaking with Playstation Magazine recently.
Not that it's a huge surprise, but it is a pleasing thought to just know that you may get to drive halfway across the world and avoid everyone in an attempt to avoid disturbing the peace.
When asked by Official Playstation Magazine if he was working on the third installment for the Far Cry series he had this to say:"No I'm not, but I know the team is and what I've seen looks pretty exciting."
There's still no 'official' confirmation from Ubisoft yet, but this seems to be nearly as good as anything, coming from a writer working for Ubisoft. More info as it becomes officially official.
Kyle: I heard too many complaints from friends and reviews I've read on Far Cry 2 to pick it up and get the full experience of the game. I'd love to get my hands on it though, just to see the beauty of it first hand. Hopefully Far Cry 3 will improve on the deal breakers that have held me back from picking up Far Cry 2.

More Confirmation Far Cry 3 is in The Works
Nov 25 2009 19:42:16 This news makes me happy. I never played Far Cry 2, but I wanted to. However, the complaints about a tedious mission structure, annoying patrols attacking you every 5 seconds, and the barrage of glitches really turned me off. Still, my jaw drops every time I look at a screen shot of FC2's photo-realistic game version of Africa. I hope FC3 is a much better game that fixes those issues.

More Confirmation Far Cry 3 is in The Works
Nov 26 2009 07:17:56 I REALLY, REALLY hope that they put in a fast travel function in Far Cry 3. I bought Far Cry 2, and despised the campaign and map editor. The map editor could produce amazing works of art, but doing so required at least 18+ hours of work. The campaign was fun, but ruined by the mysterious disappearance of my save data, and no fast travel feature (A function that should be mandatory for ALL open world games).
