In an interview with IGN UK, many intriguing new details about the highly anticipated Crackdown 2 have been made known.

First and foremost, it has been officially confirmed that skill orbs will be returning for each of the five skills (Agility, Strength, Firearms, Driving, and Explosives). As evidenced by the released screen shots, Agility Orbs and Hidden Orbs will be returning as well; in addition, however, there will be new Orbs that will increase the Driving Skill. Players can also rest assure that they won't need to collect Orbs to max out their skills.

The second big announcement in the interview has revealed that a pre-release demo will be available to download on the Xbox Live Marketplace at an unconfirmed date.

Finally, the third big announcement is the addition of helicopters complete with weapon attachments. Crackdown 2 Producer James Cope hints that the high-flying helicopters will be no doubt tons of fun, as he concludes, "The Helicopter unlocks for player control as well and is fast becoming one my favourite things in Crackdown 2 because it's also an armed vehicle."

All of the above should excite anyone who plans on picking up Crackdown 2. Stay tuned for more exciting info as the game's unconfirmed release approaches.
