Recently, EA announced that they are shutting down the servers to many old titles on February 2, 2010 and February 9, 2010. Check out the list of doomed titles over here. Basically, if you have some online-based achievements left to earn in one of the games listed and want to complete those achievements, you had better grab a friend and finish the game. Once EA shuts down the servers, any chances of completing those games will be lost forever.

One of the listed titles is NBA Live 07 for the Xbox 360. There is one achievement in NBA Live 07 that can only be earned when 1,000 other players are connected to Xbox Live while playing the game. Now, it's obvious that no one plays such an old title anymore, so naturally, you would think that such an achievement will never be unlocked. However, the gaming community at x360a.org is letting gamers know that Sunday January 31st will be the day to unlock that achievement. If you want to nail that achievement (like me), be sure to at least be in the NBA Live 07 menus at 1:00 PM Eastern, 10:00 AM Pacific. More community-specific details on the event can be found here.

Philip: NBA Live 07 is an easy 1,000 Gamerscore, so now would be an advisable time to pick up the game. If any fellow LR users plan on getting this achievement, post here or just let me know. We all can team up in a party lobby to make sure everyone gets the achievement. Besides, the more people playing the game, the better.

EA Shuts Down Online Game Servers Soon/ NBA Live 07 Event Jan 05 2010 05:15:11 This has been attempted many times in the past. I am happy to say I was able to get this achievement over a year ago when this was tried. Even then it was tough to get over 1000. You can see in the game how many people are connected, I would say that for about 30 seconds it was over 1000. The moment people get the achievement they log off.. so the best bet would be to rent or buy the game cheap somewhere... log on hours before and let it sit in the ONLINE menu. Good luck to those who are going to try.

I'd be ubber pissed off if I just picked up Madden 2009 or the likes to see the online has been kicked off the side of a cliff.
