Hoyle Texas Hold'em Launched: Avatars Go All-In
Written by Brandon Tabbert Thursday, 28 January 2010 09:10
Announced today, Hoyle Texas Hold'em is now available for worldwide download via Xbox LIVE Indie Games. From the same team that developed Minesweeper, Interpol, Domino Master and Texas Hold'em - TikGames, LLC - comes Hoyle Texas Hold'em, bringing an all new, feature-rich poker game to the Xbox 360.

Hoyle Texas Hold'em has fully integrated Microsoft's avatars, allowing gamers to compete with anywhere from 1 to 9 other players in single games and tournaments. Gamers can also look forward to a huge array of statistics, allowing them to keep track of the most important details of their games. Trophies are awarded for great achievements and there are several customization options, including AI difficulty, game types, table minimums and more. The key features of the game, via press release, follow:
- Gamers can play as their Microsoft Avatar.
- Single player games against up to 9 AI players.
- Mixed Multiplayer games with any combination of up to 9 AI and/or human players.
- Fully customizable games let the player decide game type, table minimums, mix of AI vs. human players and much more.
- Ability to reserve seats for private custom games.
- Deep statistic tracking covers over 50 key stats categories found to be the most important to professional poker players.
Regarding the game, Anatoly Tikhman, CEO of TikGames, stated, “We are extremely excited to release our first premium title to the Xbox Live Indie Game Channel. Hoyle Texas Hold‘em combines one of the biggest brands in card games with the best single and multiplayer Hold’em action."
Hoyle Texas Hold’em is priced at 400 Microsoft points and can be accessed through Microsoft’s Xbox LIVE Market Place / Indie Games.
Brandon: I am actually incredibly excited to grab this, today. The stat-tracking and private custom games are both huge to me. I'd love to see a Loading Reality poker night or poker tournament held via this game, too. What are your thoughts?

Jan 28 2010 15:47:49 You want to know something really significant? Hoyle is a licensed property, and it's on Indie Games. Think about that for a second. And also consider that a company that has published a full Arcade game is backtracking to the Indie Channel.
