Mass Effect 2 Release Date
Written by Michael Kovach Friday, 16 October 2009 12:29
Electronic Arts and BioWare have nailed down the release date of the highly-anticipated Mass Effect 2. North Americans will be able to purchase it on January 26th and the game will be available in Europe on January 29th.
Those that preorder will be rewarded with some nice in-game swag: GameStop preorders come with an already available heavy weapon and armor, while other retailers are offering solely armor, albeit of a different kind.
Mike: Sorry to say I've never played Mass Effect, but at least I have a somewhat legitimate excuse. After having played Knights of the Old Republic and its incredibly redundant sequel, I was sick of the engine/game formula BioWare had been using, as great as it was. It doesn't change the fact that I regret it though!

Mass Effect 2 Release Date
Oct 16 2009 23:13:14 Dude, get to a GameStop and I'm sure you can pick it up on the super cheap. It's worth it. I never played KOTOR, so I can't say much about the engine, but it works. The story is well developed and the action can get intense.

Oct 16 2009 23:33:46 Best damn news I heard all week. Shrike, I agree with Manny; Mass Effect is worth every penny. Its gameplay is NOT like KOTOR's. There are no "roll-the-dice" elements in the combat at all. You'll enjoy it, that I guarantee.
I also will not be buying Mass Effect 2 via pre-order. I'll make that reason known at least, three days before the game comes out. |

Oct 17 2009 00:05:17 Hot Diggity! That's sooner than I thought it was going to come out. I'm excited. Mass Effect turned out to be one of my favorite games ever, and the demo I played at PAX makes it look like the sequel will have even more awesomeness.

I guess when I mentioned KOTOR it was because this and Jade Empire just all LOOKED the same, just with different themes. Looks like a purchase. |
