Game developer 505 Games has just announced their newest project, The Swarm. The Swarm is a third-person shooter set in post-apocalyptic Moscow after an alien invansion that left the Russian capital in ruins. In The Swarm, the player is given the choice between enhancing his character with alien DNA to be a stronger foe to the aliens and retaining his character's humanity for a greater in-game challenge. Enhancing your character with alien DNA can eventually lead to the growth of thick armor, claws, and other visible changes that will no doubt change the gameplay experience.

Adam Klines, president of 505 Games, stresses that The Swarm is "not your standard third-person shooter," claiming that "the game’s adaptive combat allows players to mold their characters, draw them into the alien takeover and force them to make tough decisions typically not found in other shooter games."

Expect The Swarm in stores this May, exclusively on the Xbox 360.
