So here's the next gamerscore challenge for July 2009. We had a decent showing last month with 7 members in the challenge scoring nearly 6,000 gamerscore points.

I encourage everyone to sign up and join in with us for the fun and some friendly competition with fellow community members! This time around we would like to give away a little something for those looking to really compete. So we will be giving away one Xbox Live Arcade title of your choice to the member with the most gamerscore at the end of the challenge out of the following list below.

Looking good thus far fellas. We've got almost double the amount of participants already with exactly 1 week to go before the challenge begins!

Who's still got the Gamerscore whore titles burning holes through their pockets? I know Ryan and Kwyz are pretty much in a dark zone when it comes to pulling those easy achievements down anymore. Thankfully I've got 100,000 points before I have to worry about that.

Unlike last time, I made sure I was in this gamerscore challenge.

Time to crack out some gamerscore for two weeks. Gotta love Gamefly!

If you subtract that 1000 points, it looks like he's still winning (though, not by much).
I wish trueachievements.com would set up something similar, so that easy-achievement games wouldn't count as much

I totally agree, and apologize for sparking your rant; i certainly didn't mean to offend (hence the smiley). All jokes made about games played are meant to be taken lightly (it's not like any of us hasn't ever boosted before). Besides, the whole concept of a gamerscore challenge is to see who can be the biggest score-whore.

However, If easy-point games are a problem then just start the challenge by saying "if you play avatar [or whatever] you're disqualified"

Regardless of what games you rule out, the person with the lowest gamerscore is ALWAYS going to have an edge: a person with 100K+ points isn't going to have as many options open to them as someone with < 10K.
Although in that case, all you'd need to say is "this challenge is only open to members with a gamerscore over 50K [or whatever]"

Like I said, I totally agree with your rant, but all of it could be avoided by setting up some ground rules (which should probably happen anyway if real prizes are up for grabs).

Just one more friendly jibe, and I'll concede the point:
If you still think you can still beat the top score -1000, then do it. It'll make for good trash-talk.

Actually I think your suggestion that TA and 360v team up would be awesome.. then it all of the easy games mean nothing.. I like that idea.

Last full day for the gamerscore challenge. Everyone get a hold of Avatar like games and push in those last few 1,000 gamerscore points!

I can see both sides of the story to this for sure. I think we could work something out barring Avatar and games like it if that's the route we want to go. We'll have plenty of time to talk about the next challenge since it'll take place in a little over a month.

In defense of myself:

I'm not a hardcore gamer, by any means. I don't have multiple accounts. That gamerscore I started with is everything I've done since Halo 3 came out. (I suck at Halo 3, BTW.) I've played more XBox in the last two weeks than I have the last two months. I've been known to go more than a month without turning my XBox on, much less play every day for 900 consecutive days (seriously, how do you do that?)

I work a normal full-time job and since the challenge started I've been playing with few exceptions every free moment I've had. I also have odd days off, my last being Friday and I don't have another one before the challenge is over.

The way U2Numb was playing I was sure he was going to cream me over the weekend, and I wouldn't have really been able to do anything to stop him. I was sure you were going to post another 600+ point gain on Saturday.

I'd never heard of Avatar before the challenge started. I thought it was the tie-in game for the James Cameron movie. Someone after hearing what I was going through in the challenge told me I should try it. I really didn't know how easy it was to get the achievements either. I mean I was told it was easy, but that was really easy. I was just looking to put some buffer between me and U2 before the challenge ended to give me a fighting chance of winning it. I thought you would have had most of that by the end of the weekend anyway. I was just firing a shot across your bow to see if you would blink.

I also thought more than two people would be duking it out for the top spot. I probably wouldn't have pulled out the Avatar if that was the case. I'm sorry if I stepped on any toes or hurt any feelings. I was just playing competitively. Avatar was my sling against Goliath. No hard feelings all.

Just you all wait, I'm gonna bust out Avatar, King Kong, all the sports games and whatever else I can find and still beat all your asses. Come back from 80 points bitches!

Well Cow, we appreciate you joining the challenge even if you did destroy face with a cheap game or two. It's more to the point that we've seen a lot of people do the same thing in challenges, and it sucks for those already rockin' massive gamerscore already.

I'll wait until tomorrow to announce the official winner, as the gamerscore will keep kicking in until 3:00 PST.

Is it over yet? I don't think anyone bothered to tell U2NUMB. He's already got a 1,000 points today and by my tracker he's still got 90 minutes to go. I wouldn't count him out on the cheap game front just yet.

I don't want to be given to Aaron as a prize, that is simply disgusting.
