Oh yea, I forgot all about your review. I went ahead and grabbed a set from BestBuy.com. The only complaint I have is they're super expensive compared to what I picked up the AX360 for over 2 years ago.. the AX360 was only $80'ish and this is costing me over $200 (with a 2 year Best Buy warranty).

I should have them Wednesday or Thursday. I will confirm or deny your review here in another week or two. Good review btw.

I could use a little more variety in the level design. The action and gameplay are so crazy and awesome but when you take a minute to look around at the levels you are driving in, they are actually pretty blah. I want more bridges and ramps and cliffs and crazy obstacles to use against your opponents. Maybe the cooler levels will be in the full game--I mean they would have to be, right?

What would be really cool is if they combined the power up fighting of Blur with the scenery destruction of Split/Second. That could possibly be the best cart racing game ever made.

As many pessimistic people have taught me, go in with low expectations to come out less scarred. However, It seems your blog is simply complaining about how different everything is. If Halo Reach came out and it was more akin to Bad Company 2 than Halo 3, blogs like this would follow. Roll with the punches, live with the changes.

For some reason the very beginning of this almost sounds New Wave-y, you know before the metalness really kicks in. I don't know why I'm thinking old-skool Police, but I am. And the lyrics/vocals are making me think of Rush. I'm not really a big metal guy (I basically only like Deftones and High on Fire) but combine those two sounds together and you've got some unique gold on your hands.

I hate the ball thing. It looks like a prototype, which is what I thought it was when we saw it last summer. Why not just make the Playstation motion capture suit? Don't you want to play games in a blue unitard spandex suit?

(That actually would be kind of cool. Imagine playing God of War III and acting out all of the gruesome death animations while watching what you are doing on the TV. Hmm....)

On one hand, I want Blu-ray on my 360 so I don't have to switch over to my PS3 every time I want to see a movie. On the other hand, they are kind of right about digital downloads. That does seem to be the way things are going.

Now about the DVD disc size issue for games, that does suck but it doesn't have to be a big deal. As long as you can download the relevant data from either another disc or XBox Live onto your hard drive, what exactly would the extra storage space on a Blu-ray disc do for you again? Make things more convenient?

I end up installing every game to my hard drive now anyway just because I can't hear dialogue at low volumes over the whirring of the disc drive. As soon as I'm done with the game I just delete the file and download the next game. Why can't companies do that if they want to make sure every part of their game makes it in? They already do it in another fashion with DLC.

Story: Sorry if this has been posted before....didn't see it.

It was a huge success on it’s release, so it’s no surprise to hear the we’re getting a Game of the Year edition of Batman Arkham Asylum. But that’s not all. The Game of the Year edition will come with the option to play in 3D on regular TV’s, so no 3D-ready TV is required.

Whilst the GOTY edition will be released on PS3, 360 and PC, it will be only the consoles that will benefit from this feature.

The game will use TriOviz 3D, which “…is a patented 3D process which adds depth to the game…” Of course we’ll have to wear 3D specs to play the game and you’ll get a set included with a copy of the game, but I’m hoping that I can use the 3D specs I have from my times watching 3D films at the cinema as they’d be better than some cardboard ones thrown in with the game.

Either way though, surely this is the start of the 3D games evolution? If Square Enix are pushing it out already and now with Arkham Asylum, then I would have thought it won’t be long until other games start including a 3D option in their games, whether it be from a downloaded patch or on the disc.

Will the 3D be any good though? The game was brilliant but will the third dimension give it that something extra, or just another cheap gimmick to sell copies? We got to play Batman: Arkham Asylum using NVIDIA’s 3D gaming system at Eurogamer Expo 2009, so I wonder how it will compare to that, presumably it won’t be as good? Let us know what you think below.

Batman Arkham Asylum: Game of the Year Edition will be released 26th March 2010.
